Continue to involve the sleep and maternity teams in diagnosed sleep apnoea; pregnancy changes may require mask, pressure or symptom review.

Direct guidance

What to know or do

Do not stop prescribed CPAP because of pregnancy. Report poor fit, inability to tolerate treatment, worsening snoring, gasping, morning headache or severe daytime sleepiness.

What changes the answer

  • Pregnancy week, sleep position and what wakes or limits you
  • Snoring, breathing pauses, restless legs, pain, reflux or severe daytime sleepiness
  • The exact pillow, device, medicine, supplement or remedy being considered
